$100m Art Series Hotel Opens In Brisbane

Art Series Hotels has opened its eighth art-inspired hotel, The Fantauzzo. Located at Brisbane’s recently developed $200m Howard Smith Wharves, the Fantauzzo is the perfect culmination of ingenuity and contemporary luxury.

Arts Series Hotels’ distinctive quality is that each hotel is dedicated to an Australian contemporary artist, showcasing original artworks and prints throughout.

The new luxury hotel is named after the acclaimed Australian artist Vincent Fantauzzo, who is best known for his award-winning portraits of Australian celebrities and personalities including Asher Keddie, Heath Ledger, Julia Gillard, and Matt Moran. Fantauzzo has won several awards including the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, the Archibald Packing Room Prize, and has won the Archibald people’s choice award four times.

The hotel is permeated with his custom contemporary furnishings, six original artworks, and over 500 giclėe prints. This is accompanied by complimentary art tours, in-room art channels, and libraries, immersing guests in Fantauzzo’s work.

“I’m strongly passionate about accessibility to the arts, and what excites me most about the collaboration is that this hotel will give all guests the opportunity to connect with art, and immerse themselves in a really creative experience,” Fantauzzo proclaimed.

The notorious design practice SJB’s ambitious project incorporated Fantauzzo’s contrasting elements that augment the photorealism of his work to create a narrative.

Dark tones and muted finishes eschew the primitive ‘white gallery’ space, whilst raw concrete finishes with black glass and tiles create bold accents.

The angular forms that reside on both the facade of the building and within the interior elements, provide a distinction between Fantauzzo’s artworks and the hotel’s design. SJB director Tristan Wong disclosed that the historically significant location would enable guests a unique opportunity to learn more about Brisbane’s history.

The new general manager of the hotel, Sean Fields, has over 20 years of experience in the hotel industry. Fields have greeted a myriad of high-profile guests into his hotel including Lady Gaga, Oprah Winfrey, Michael Bublė, Pink and none other than Queen Elizabeth II herself.

Strongly passionate about the Art Series brand, Field’s top priority is to deliver a five-star opulent experience but in a more relaxed manner. This is to create a welcoming space where everyone feels as though they belong to the hotel.

As the most creative and luxurious Art Series Hotel yet, The Fantauzzo’s spectacular location, raw charisma, and breathtaking views will make your stay like no other.

Peforming Romance: Why Restaurant Hubert Feels Luxurious Without Trying to Impress

Luxury in dining is often explained through price, rarity of ingredients, or technical complexity. Restaurant Hubert in Sydney challenges that definition.
