The luxury electric sedan market has become one of the most competitive segments in the automotive world, with established European brands and ambitious newcomers all vying for attention. Into this arena steps the 2025 Genesis Electrified G80, a car that doesn’t shout for attention but earns it through space, refinement, and carefully considered technology.
This is not just an update — it’s a statement of intent from Genesis. By combining extended passenger space, increased range, and an interior that balances modern technology with craftsmanship, the new Electrified G80 aims to redefine what buyers can expect from an executive-class EV.

More Space, More Comfort
The biggest change is the longer wheelbase, which gives the G80 a more balanced stance and significantly improves passenger comfort. Rear occupants now enjoy noticeably more legroom and headroom, making this a strong contender for those who value chauffeured travel.
Buyers can opt for the 2nd Row Comfort Pack, which adds heated and ventilated rear seats, power-operated side and rear blinds, and power-closing doors. These are features traditionally reserved for long-wheelbase European limousines, now paired with the smooth, silent character of an EV.
Luxury Without the Clutter

Inside, Genesis has kept the design clean and functional. A 27-inch OLED display serves as the central interface, combining navigation, media, and vehicle information in one seamless screen. The layout is intuitive, reducing distraction while driving.
A Bang & Olufsen audio system delivers detailed sound, while active noise cancellation and acoustic glass ensure the cabin remains peaceful at speed. Practical touches, like a UV-C sanitising compartment for personal items, add everyday convenience without breaking the car’s luxury focus. High-quality materials and precise detailing throughout reinforce Genesis’s craftsmanship.
Smooth, Capable Electric Performance
Power comes from dual 136 kW motors, giving all-wheel drive capability and smooth, instant acceleration. The larger 94.5 kWh battery increases range to up to 570 km (354 miles) on the WLTP cycle, making long trips more practical.

Charging is equally competitive — the 800V system allows 10–80% recharging in about 25 minutes on a high-power DC charger. Comfort is managed by Electronically Controlled Suspension with Road Preview, which scans the road ahead and adjusts damping in real time for a smoother ride.
Standing Out in a Competitive Field

The Electrified G80’s rivals include the Mercedes-Benz EQE, BMW i5, and the upcoming Audi A6 e-tron. Where the Genesis stands out is in its combination of standard features, thoughtful design, and value.
While its European competitors rely heavily on heritage, Genesis benefits from a clean slate, allowing it to design a car that feels fresh and distinctive without being overly experimental. Many features that are optional extras on German models are included as standard, reducing the need for expensive add-ons.
A Strategic Step for Genesis

By giving its flagship electric sedan such a substantial update, Genesis is making it clear that it intends to be a serious player in the luxury EV space. The brand’s approach is less about chasing the fastest acceleration times and more about delivering quiet, confident luxury that owners can enjoy every day.
It’s a car designed to be comfortable over long distances, refined in city traffic, and easy to live with — a formula that appeals to buyers who value a balanced blend of technology, performance, and comfort.
