Every year, the city of Paris transforms into a vibrant epicentre of creativity and design as it hosts Maison & Objet, one of the world’s most prestigious trade fairs dedicated to interior design and lifestyle. This biannual event draws professionals and creatives from across the globe, offering a curated glimpse into the future of living spaces.
The History of Maison $ Objet
Launched in 1995, Maison and Objet has grown into a cornerstone of the global design calendar. What began as a trade show has evolved into an influential platform where innovation, craftsmanship, and vision converge. Today, the fair welcomes thousands of exhibitors and visitors from over 100 countries, making it a focal point for design cultures and ideas.
Unlike traditional design shows, Maison & Objet is known for its multidimensional approach. The fair is divided into sectors, from Home Fragrances and Textiles to Smart Home Innovations, allowing visitors to explore specific interests or discover emerging trends across disciplines. Standout features include the Rising Talent Awards and Panel Events.

Highlights from 2024: Nature and Tech in Harmony
Last year’s theme, ‘Tech Eden’, focused on the intersection of technology and nature, demonstrating how innovation can coexist with sustainability and well-being. From smart textiles to organic-inspired lighting, the exhibitions showcased how digital advancement can enhance, rather than disrupt, our relationship with the natural world. Visitors were treated to interactive installations, immersive design expriences, and thought-provoking exhibits that challenged conventional boundaries between art, design, and function.
Aurélie Hoegy was one of the recipients of the Rising Talent Award at Maison & Objet. The designer from France works with rattan, with which she sculpts furniture, true functional works of art that are interconnected with innovative design. Hoégy’s work exemplifies a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation. While her designs are rooted in traditional craftsmanship, they incorporate modern technologies and concepts, reflecting the evolving landscape of contemporary design. This fusion creates pieces that are not only functional, but also thought-provoking, serving as a commentary on the interplay between the natural world and technological advancement at Paris Design Week.

Maison & Objet Paris 2025: ‘Welcome Home’, A Celebration of Renewal and Intimacy
Maison & Objet Paris returns this September with a fresh theme, ‘Welcome Home’, a bold reflection on how domestic design is shifting in response to the evolving interplay between technology and tradition. Building on the earlier theme of ‘Sur/Reality’, this edition continues to push creative boundaries through an eclectic fusion of fantasy, innovation, and immersive aesthetics.
As our homes become multi-functional spaces, blending living, working, and relaxing, the fair envisions a new kind of home, one that is intuitive, experimental and deeply emotionally responsive. Rather than showcasing immaculate interiors or showroom perfection, the focus is on design that adapts to how we live today, and anticipates how we might live tomorrow. Expect to see over 2,500 brands and designers presenting collections that focus on aligning with this qualities and promote well-being in the living space.
