Charles Leclerc, the Ferrari Formula One driver, has cashed in on a superyacht estimated to be worth between $15 million and $20 million. Born and raised in Monaco, one of the world’s premier yachting destinations, it’s no surprise that luxury yachts are a part of his lifestyle. Leclerc’s latest acquisition, the Riva 102’ Corsaro Super Sedici, is a reflection of his love for Italian craftsmanship, elegant design and high-performance engineering.
Sedici’s hefty price tag reflects the timeless style of Italian yacht builder Riva, along with custom features designed specifically to Leclerc’s personal tastes. The vessel also solidifies his long-standing relationship with the iconic yacht maker, having previously owned a Riva 82’.
A natural upgrade
Leclerc’s previous yacht already showcased his preference for the Riva brand, but Sedici marks a significant step forward in both size and capability. Measuring approximately 31 metres in length, the Riva 102’ Corsaro Super offers considerably more interior space, entertainment areas and long-distance cruising comfort.
This yacht marks a significant milestone for Riva, being the twentieth hull built in the 102’ Corsaro Super series. It was first launched at the Italian shipyard’s La Spezia facility in Italy, where Leclerc attended the ceremony alongside the yacht’s manufacturers.
Italian design at its finest
Like other yachts in the Corsaro Super range, Sedici was designed by Officina Italiana Design in collaboration with Riva’s engineering team. The yacht embraces a sleek exterior with expansive glass panels that open the interior to natural light. Similar to the qualities that define the Riva brand, this vessel’s profile balances aggressive styling with refined elegance. This includes wide walkways, spacious outdoor lounges and seamless transitions between outdoor and indoor living spaces.
Rather than relying on excessive embellishment and decoration, the yacht focuses on clean architecture, premium materials and meticulous detailing, which has become a key element of modern Italian yacht design.
Interiors tailored to Leclerc
One of Sedici’s defining characteristics is the degree of customisation seen throughout the yacht. Reports indicate that Leclerc worked closely with Riva to customise various elements of the vessel. The flybridge, for example, has been configured as an entertainment hub, complete with an outdoor galley, allowing guests to enjoy meals and social gatherings while taking in panoramic sea views.
Inside the yacht, luxury materials are evident throughout its interior design through the use of high-quality marble, premium wood finishes, designer furnishings and sophisticated lighting, creating an atmosphere that is contemporary without feeling extravagant. It follows Leclerc’s personal style, housing Jim Thompson cushions and Frette linens.
Its spacious living areas accommodate up to ten guests across five luxurious cabins, while separate crew quarters ensure a discreet service experience. Each guest cabin is designed with comfort at the forefront, featuring generous storage space and private bathrooms.
A beach club designed for relaxation
One of the yacht’s standout features is the expansive beach club located at the stern. Measuring over 35 square metres, this area transforms into a large waterside terrace once the yacht is anchored, providing direct access to the sea and creating an ideal space for swimming, paddleboarding or relaxing by the water. Additionally, large folding platforms extend the usable deck space, giving guests the feeling of a private waterfront lounge. For Leclerc, whose home country of Monaco sits on the Mediterranean coastline, such a feature perfectly blends with his lifestyle and the qualities of Riviera cruising.
Performance inspired by racing
Although Sedici is undeniably luxurious, it also fulfils Leclerc’s passion for speed. Powered by twin MTU diesel engines producing more than 2,600 horsepower each, the yacht is capable of reaching a top speed of approximately 28 knots. Additionally, the vessel possesses comfortable cruising speeds for general use. Overall, the advanced hull design ensures stable handling while maintaining the smooth ride expected from a premium yacht.
Why the name Sedici?
The yacht’s Italian-derived name, Sedici, translates to “sixteen”. This choice is consistent with Leclerc’s branding and is personal to him, as he was born on 16 October. Sixteen is Leclerc’s racing number, which has become synonymous with his career. Naming the yacht Sedici extends that identity beyond the racetrack, while its Italian influence reinforces his connection with his culture and his Italian team, Ferrari.
The future of Sedici
As one of the newest additions to Riva’s prestigious fleet, the yacht showcases how modern superyachts have evolved beyond traditional luxury, incorporating innovative engineering, custom layouts and lifestyle-focused design.
