Feast at The Star Sydney During Their Indulgence Months

With the rise of Crown Sydney and their wildly popular restaurants Woodcut and a’Mare, all eyes have been on The Star Sydney to see how they will respond in kind. In the hope to lure back Sydney diners, the casino’s answer is a new two-month drinking and dining program, aptly named The Star Sydney Indulgence festival.

Throughout the festival which is running from April to May, each venue at the casino will switch out their current menu with a menu with ‘indulgence’ as the directive theme. From high-end Japanese whisky flights at Sokyo, and Glenmorangie trolleys at BLACK Bar & Grill, through to a decadent roe service at CHUUKA, and there is even an ambient playlist at The Darling Spa, personally curated by Tame Impala’s Cam Avery, all designed to allow visitors to experience and indulge in luxury.

In perhaps the most ambitious attempt to engage all five senses, all venues have been attempting some wildly abstract and unique dining experiences. For example, BLACK Bar & Grill’s Executive Chef, Danny Karam, is offering a $290-for-two high-end meat platter to pair with a Renaissance sculpture created by florist Lisa Cooper.

Furthermore, Flying Fish’s head chef Peter Robertson has taken The Star Indulgence theme and run with it. For $130, the restaurant will serve you course after course of up-market essentials like caviar, oysters, and sea urchin, alongside several bespoke cocktails. The vision for this lunch was to while away your afternoon, indulging in their sprawling set menu. You might want to take a half-day for this one.

CHUUKA is also diving headfirst into the world of indulgence by offering luxury itself on a plate. Known for their Japanese precision, they’ve developed a roe service that takes the word ‘delicacy’ to all new heights. One can sample Ikura salmon roe accompanied with a wide range of exquisite sauces and accompaniments such as their, golden egg yolk sauce, butter cashew cream, and potato rice crackers.

Finally, since there is always room for dessert, what better way to top off the experience with dessert at Cucina Porto. The restaurant has fine-tuned five of Italy’s signature desserts, creating the ultimate shared dessert experience. From traditional tiramisu, cannoli with whipped ricotta, Chantilly cream filled bigne’s, torta della mamma, cioccolato e lamponi featuring raspberry mousse inside chocolate espresso cups, one cannot help but feel pampered and delighted.

Prepare for the most indulgent and decadent time by experiencing the best The Star has to offer.
