One of motorsport’s most celebrated names is parting ways with a rare piece of automotive excellence. Max Verstappen’s personal Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport is being offered to the highest bidder, combining racing pedigree with impeccable engineering. This limited-edition track car now presents a unique opportunity for collectors to own a motorsport icon’s bespoke machine.
Precision Engineering Meets Championship Legacy
Among the elite realm of track-only performance cars, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport stands out for its raw power and limited production. Introduced at the 2018 Los Angeles Motor Show, it was touted as Porsche’s most powerful customer racing model not built for the road. Only 200 units were made, and this particular example holds a unique distinction: it was delivered new to Max Verstappen, the four-time Formula 1 world champion.
This 911 has also been piloted by Jos Verstappen, Max’s father and former F1 driver, adding another layer of generational racing legacy.
Built to Thrill on the Circuit
Beneath the sculpted shell lies a twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine producing a formidable 700 horsepower, channeled through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Weighing just over 3,000 pounds, it is purpose-built for unfiltered performance on closed tracks.
Verstappen’s Clubsport has seen minimal use, registering approximately 1,361 miles on the odometer. Shipped from Belgium to the United States in 2022, the car has remained in pristine condition and has rarely turned a wheel since its arrival.
More Than a Supercar, a Signed Collector’s Trophy
Adding to its allure, the car bears Verstappen’s signature in three places: the hood, engine bay, and dashboard. His name also appears within the infotainment system alongside that of his manager, Raymond Vermeulen. The vehicle’s provenance includes a documented outing at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, where both Max and Jos drove it during the filming of a Dutch documentary in January 2020.
Originally purchased in August 2019, the car came with additional wheels and tires, and benefited from professional care by Dutch racing team GP Elite.
Ready for the Right Garage
The vehicle is being auctioned by RM Sotheby’s and is expected to command as much as $650,000. Though not significantly above its original price tag of around $475,000, its value lies in its exclusivity and the connection to one of Formula 1’s most dominant talents.
For collectors and Porsche purists alike, this isn’t merely a track weapon. It is a tangible slice of racing history, sanctioned by a reigning legend and built to dominate the tarmac.
