Alexander McQueen has just launched its very first Australian store, located in Melbourne. The British fashion label is extremely well-known for its beautiful and exquisite designs and fits perfectly into Chadstone Shopping Centre as it is known for being the fashion capital of Australia.
The ideal location of the new store makes the brand extremely accessible to Australian’s, especially to those who prefer in-store shopping than online shopping.
The beautiful interiors of the fresh, new store were designed by creative director Sarah Burton in collaboration with architect Smiljan Radic.
The stunning wood interior allowed for Burton to incorporate both a contemporary and traditional store while displaying the finest pieces from the McQueen selection. The store has countless mannequins featuring the most deluxe winter, summer, autumn and spring collections designed by the McQueen team.
Alongside the beautiful wood interior, Burton has created a few different coloured feature walls with red, white and black designs which currently match the Women’s Autumn/Winter 2019 Collection.
As the store is relatively new, these designs may change seasonally when new collections are dropped. However, they are a statement piece which gives store visitors and shoppers the unique experience of an Alexander McQueen boutique.
The Melbourne store is spacious enough to display not only clothing for men and women but also accessories and shoes. These have been displayed in an eye-catching presentation, drawing store visitors to these as one of the main features.
McQueen’s’ designs consist of clothing for both men and women. As well as, accessories including bags, wallets, jewellery, scarves, belts and sunglasses. Additionally, this luxurious brand also designs shoes, such as sneakers, boots, pumps and sandals.
The prices range from $120 for a pair of socks to $28,685 for an evening dress. However, due to the beautiful fabrics and unique materials, the products are worth every cent.
Alexander McQueen himself was an integral part of the international fashion community. He worked as chief designer at Givenchy from 1996 to 2001 and founded his own label in 1992. His wonderful and outstanding achievements earned him many awards, such as the British Designer of the Year award in 1996, 1997, 2001 and 2003. As well as, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA’s) International Designer of the Year award in 2003.
McQueen had boutiques globally by the end of 2007, with stores located in London, New York, Los Angeles, Milan and Las Vegas. Additionally, the prestige designer was featured in a number of international and local fashion shows, showcasing many of his beautiful collections for the world to see.
McQueen has also created his own fragrance line and has collaborated with other high-end brands such as Puma, MAC and Gucci. Additionally, in 2006 McQueen created McQ which is another smaller brand of his own, however, includes lower-priced collections for younger men and women.
Alexander McQueen fans from Australia, now have the opportunity to not only purchase the label in the store but also experience the atmosphere of any McQueen store similar to that in Britain.
