Australia’s Best VIP Wine Experiences

As the world’s fifth-largest exporter of wine, Australia is a prime destination for any wine lover. A trip to a vineyard is the perfect holiday if you’ve ever wanted to go behind the scenes and learn about how prized blends are made, from the soil to the table. You can drink in the sights alongside a glass of red while surrounded by beautiful wine country. With a variety of luxurious escapes on offer across Australia, it’s guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience.

This three-day luxury experience kicks off in Melbourne, where a private jet whisks guests off to Tasmania in style. Visitors will stay two nights at the cosy Lost Farm Lodge, right in the heart of the golf course with stunning views of the ocean and course.

You’ll get the chance to try your hand at two separate golf courses, the 20-hole Lost Farm course and the 18-hole Barnbougle Dunes course.

Respectively ranked number 4 and 2 in Australia, both courses meander along the coastline amongst steep sand dunes, offering a challenging game for golfers of all stripes.

In store for the third day is a visit to the Moorilla winery, where you will embark on a private tour with the Wine Ambassador and visit the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) located on the grounds.

As the largest privately funded museum in the Southern Hemisphere, MONA displays over 1900 works, including Australia’s largest modernist artwork: the Snake mural by Sidney Nolan. You’ll also be treated to spa sessions, gourmet lunches and your very own bottle of Moorilla’s Muse wine before jetting off back to Melbourne.

Lions & Wines – Adelaide Hills

This experience offers an unusual pairing: a wildlife encounter and wine. After a private helicopter ride from Adelaide, travellers will touch down at Monarto Zoo, Australia’s largest open-range zoo and one of the largest in the world with an area of 1500 hectares.

You’ll get up close and personal with a pride of lions, getting the chance to marvel at and feed these magnificent beasts. Afterward, you’ll fly to The Lane Vineyard for a three-course lunch made with local ingredients and paired with choice wines. Then it’s time for the scenic flight back to Adelaide, where you can admire the unparalleled panoramic views of the Mount Lofty Ranges and the CBD spread out below.

Celebrated Australian wine producer Penfolds has been crafting quality wines since 1844. Take a look behind their cellar door with the Global Ambassador, who will guide you through their famous estates across South Australia in a VIP getaway to remember.

At the Penfolds Magill Estate, the birthplace of the renowned Grange wine, you can visit the Grange Cottage, the old home of founders Dr. Christopher and Mary Penfold. Explore the winery, cellar, and underground tunnels before putting your tastebuds to the test with a private vintage tasting and barrel sampling.

After a five-course degustation lunch, take a helicopter to other Penfold’s estates in different wine regions, including Block 42. This winery holds the distinction of being the oldest cabernet-producing vineyard in Australia. And for one last special touch, every visitor will receive a personalised bottle of Grange.

The Ultimate Winery Escape – Queensland

At Sanctuary by Sirromet, you’ll enjoy a secluded nature retreat accompanied by premium food and wine. You’ll spend two nights in the Honeymoon Pavilion, a tented pavilion overlooking a lagoon and encircled by peaceful bushland. Feast on contemporary Australian cuisine with the eight-course dinner at Restaurant Lurleen’s, an eatery with a focus on simple food and quality ingredients, many of which are harvested straight from its own garden.

Every course is paired with a different wine produced by the estate, and guests are gifted two bottles. Sanctuary also offers a wine tour and tasting experience, a golf course, and trips to nearby Stradbroke Island, a hotspot for wildlife watching.
