Today, June 21st, Bulgari will present its most precious jewellery collection to the world. The Magnifica 2021 collection pays particular tribute to women and the deep-rooted commitment of the jewellery to creating marvellous jewellery. The exclusive collection is a superior presentation of the world’s rarest gems and Bulgari’s unparalleled craftsmanship encapsulated in a series of modern designs.

Earlier this month, Bulgari took to Milan for a two-day event to unveil their latest collections to a select group of customers. Staged at the Bulgari hotel in Milan, the jeweller intentionally paid tribute to the hardships the fashion capital experienced due to COVID-19. The event proposed a fresh start and a sign of hope for the city after the pandemic inflicted ongoing restrictions and reduced travelling. Launching Magnifica created a festive mood for attendees to immerse themselves physically in the joy-inducing splendour of luxury jewellery. The launch was the first major live event in the city, and we want to help it restart.” Tonight Bulgari will launch the whole high jewellery collection globally from the digital realm.

Fabrizio Buonamassa is the mastermind behind the stunning creations – as Bulgari’s Product Creation Executive Director, he brings together magnificence, art and brilliance in a series of exquisite designs. The Magnifica collection is a tribute to women, the “fearless and revolutionary women who took bold decisions that changed the course of things at the time”. Attributing the collection to women is an intentional ode to Rome and its eternal beauty formed by female muses. Complementing this meaning is a pledge to exploring the bounds of creativity and transform worldly inspiration into exciting ideas. According to Buonamassa, “inspiration is the ability to play around imaginatively with a single material, explain what it needs to accomplish, and be innovative with boundaries”.

The Magnifica designs encompass some of the world’s rarest and most exceptional gems discovered by the jeweller. It comprises an exquisite collection of 350 masterpieces and watches featuring vibrant and rate gemstones, a complement of Bulgari’s values and 137 years of experience in creating timelessly elegant pieces. Paraiba Tourmalines, one of the rarest gems, are featured in five oval cushion-cut forms; they weigh approximately 500 carats evoking a sense of purity and elegance. Bulgari spent hundreds of millions of dollars and hours perfecting each design, leaving over 60 pieces priced in the millions.

Artisans of Bulgari craft each component with exquisite detail, creating unique and timeless artforms. Each holds versatility, designed to be worn in many ways across time – an innovative modern touch of Bulgari’s high-jewellery expertise.

One notable piece in the collection, representing the most expensive and precious piece the luxury connoisseur has ever produced, is the Ruby Metamorphosis and necklace set. The duo embodies bold sophistication, taking over 2,500 hours to complete. It comprises detachable pieces that enable wear in nine different ways, including a Dimond choker and chain. The piece features a watch dial veiled by a cushion-cut 6.3 carat Mozambique ruby, whose magnificence presence makes this a work of art. The bracelet contains baguette-cut rubies and diamonds set to display subtle excellence. “It truly is a work of art, hiding a complex, articulated and carefully studied structure that enables to transform it,” Creative director Lucia Silvestri said.

According to Bvlgari’s recent announcements, the stunning collections will be launched across the digital space at 2.30 PM Milan time, 10.30 PM Australian time. Stay tuned in the digital to see the whole assembly come to life.
