Recognised lavish jewellery brand Cartier are the brains behind the exclusive, grunge -turned-gold industrial garage party that was filled with Australian A-listers. Headlined as Cartier Precious Garage party and held in Sydney, the event was created and appropriately themed ‘when the ordinary becomes precious’.
Countless celebrities and A-list names gathered at the compelling event along with Cartier’s surprise musical performance by Rita Ora. An evening filled with fun, fashion and luxury, this uniquely prestige event truly outdid itself, impressing the hardest of critics, leaving the most memorable of memories.
The Cartier Precious Garage party was hosted under the Anzac Bridge in Sydney, in an abandoned shipping yard. The concept of the idea embodied maximum potential and beauty by elevating everyday objects and transforming them. In a spacious yet cosy setting amongst transformed shipping containers and embellishment of red, gold and diamond, the revamp of the yard was a spectacular innovation.
The event held 500 prestige guests, all of which were immersed through an odyssey of fine fashion, exquisite design, and intimate connections. The party was lined with a 75-metre red carpet and every few metres was situated with friendly, helpful Cartier mechanics, fitting in with the car yard theme.
Industrial steer doors wrapped in dripping, vibrant gold paint was the statement piece. Inside the bold doors sat an all gold, lustrous convertible, with inbuilt screens that display Cartier’s latest campaign.
Modern club style meets class; golden lounges and the show collections being displayed in sheen, golden glistening tool boxes surround the venue. The bar that sat central to the main event, was the hot spot where the chic bartenders generously poured Cartier’s signature branded champagne all night for the 500 guests.
A few of the high-profile faces that attended the event included models Georgia Fowler, Bella Heathcote, Elizabeth Debicki and Jessica Gomes. Other elite socialites to attend included VIP’s, national influencers, celebrities and designers. Alongside Rita Ora, the night’s entertainment consisted of local talent including Glades and DJ Eve Speciall and Graz.
All attendees were greeted at the finale of the red carpet with an imperative photo in front of the spectacular, gold frosted shipping container with the iconic Cartier brand in neon gold lights. After the mingling and formalities had concluded, guests were granted entry into the most important part of the night, The Precious Garage.
The night uncovered Cartier’s Juste Un Clou and Ecrou collections, adored by all and labelled seductive and dazzling.
Originating from Salone del Mobile in Milan, the Precious Garage started off as a themed design exhibition. Desi Santiago who is a New York-based artist, designed this theme to showcase the Juste un Clou and Écrou de Cartier collections.
It was in a 1970 collaboration of Cartier and designer Aldo Cipullo where the concept of ‘when ordinary becomes precious’ came into motion. Portraying the jewellery as hardware, the collection magnified the unique elements of everyday accessories. An event so iconic had to be reincarnated and it was an absolute hit.
