Disney Cruise Line is bringing its beloved magic closer to home with Disney Magic at Sea, a seasonal cruise program sailing from Australia and New Zealand between October 2025 and February 2026.
This limited season of voyages invites Australians and New Zealanders to experience iconic Disney storytelling, character encounters, and immersive entertainment, all aboard the elegant Disney Wonder ship.
PORTS, ITINERARIES & SPECIAL OFFERS
Disney Magic at Sea will depart from major ports including Sydney, Melbourne, and Auckland. During this season, the cruise line is offering a special fare promotion: 50% off the third and fourth guests in the same stateroom on select sailings.
Itineraries range from 2-night getaways to longer voyages, with a slate of themed entertainment, deck parties, and festivities mapped to each duration.
MAGIC ON BOARD
Onboard, the enchantment unfolds across multiple dimensions. Guests will delight in Broadway-style shows such as Frozen, A Musical Spectacular and Disney Dreams – An Enchanted Classic.
Character meet-and-greets are built into the journey, from Mickey and Minnie to Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars guests. For the 2025–2026 season, characters Bluey and Bingo join the line-up on all Australia and New Zealand sailings.
Dining is elevated through rotational dining: each night, guests visit a new restaurant with unique menus and themed settings. Favourites include Tiana’s Place with live jazz, Animator’s Palate, where surroundings awaken with animation, and Triton’s with curated Pacific Asian cuisine.
For adults, there are retreats like Quiet Cove Pool, an adult-only dining venue (Palo), and a spa & salon experience.

FAMILY & YOUTH EXPERIENCES
Disney has designed distinct spaces and activities to engage every age group. Kids (3–12) are catered to at Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab with themed play and immersive storytelling. Tweens and teens enjoy their own zones like Edge and Vibe with games, karaoke, and social programs.
Pools, water play zones, themed splash areas, and magical fireworks at sea on select sailings round out the fun.

VALUE, INCLUSIONS & EXPECTATIONS
Many of the cruise’s hallmark experiences are included in the base fare: entertainment, character encounters, most dining, basic youth care, and pools.
What’s extra: specialty fare (Palo), spa treatments, alcoholic beverages, WiFi, and professional photos. Because the cruises are in high demand, early booking is essential.

CONTEXT & FUTURE OUTLOOK
Disney’s return to Australia and New Zealand marks not just a cruise season, but a statement of intent: to make Disney more accessible for local audiences.
However, the bigger cruise landscape is shifting. Major players are reducing their presence in Australia, citing high port fees and operating costs. Disney plans to withdraw after the 2025–26 season, making these sailings even more exclusive.
With a limited run ahead, Disney Magic at Sea becomes more than a family holiday; it becomes a rare opportunity to experience Disney’s high magic, locally.
