Explore the exquisite components of the $2.4million Goût de Diamants Champagne

Goût de Diamants, “The Taste of Diamond“, is a unique, luxury range of champagne, starting at AUD 1.2million per bottle.

Formulated from Grand Cru grapes from Champagne Chapuy di Oger winery in the Grand East Region of France, the Goût de Diamants range offers a Rosé, a Brut, a Blanc de Blancs and a vintage offering. The champagne blend portrays a silky texture, fresh yet intense flavour and elegant, floral aroma.

Not only is the champagne blend an exquisite composition of some of the finest grapes in France, but the bottle itself is also a work of art, designed by world-acclaimed designer Alexander Amosu. The Nigerian born British entrepreneur is well known for creating the world’s most expensive suit. Encrusted with diamonds and equipped with gold buttons, the suit made the Guinness World Records, retailing at AUD 128 000.

Alongside this feat, Amosu designs world-acclaimed champagnes and is responsible for the elegant and expensive appearance of the Goût de Diamants range. These unique bottles boast an 18-carat white gold superman inspired tag that can be personalised by engraving the client’s name upon it. A pewter label on the back of each bottle details the contents of the blend, and the final touch to the most expensive bottle of champagne is a Swarovski crystal that adorns the centre of the diamond-shaped tag.

The bottle’s design changes slightly, depending on what’s inside, with the Rosé presenting pink Swarovski crystals and clear on the Blanc de Blancs and the Brut.  Custom made for a private client, Goût de Diamants became the most expensive bottle of champagne in 2013 when Amosu replaced the pewter label with a label of 18-carat gold and the Swarovski crystal with a 19-carat white gold plate. Retailing for AUD 2.4 million, the vintage, “roaring 20’s” inspired champagne bottle costs the equivalent of a Bugatti Veyron.

The mastermind behind this expensive collaboration idea is the 29-year-old founder of Prodiguer Brands, Shammi Shinh. Drawing inspiration from the $116,000 bottle of Armand de Brignac, which retails at AUD 90,000 and is nick-named the Ace of Spades, the Goût de Diamants designed by Alexander Amosu is the perfect rival, formed from an exquisite combination of gold, diamonds and excellent champagne.
