Hayman Island Intercontinental – Immerse Into Luxury

The Intercontinental Hotel located on Hayman Island in Queensland has officially reopened after undergoing a $135 million renovation. The stunning island was severely affected by Cyclone Debbie in 2017, which had winds exceeding 250km/h. This resulted in the hotel being forced to shut down for a period of time.

Finally, after two years the Intercontinental is back and more luxurious than ever. Located at the northernmost point of the Whitsunday’s, the hotel has 166 suites and villas. All rooms are interweaved by stunning pools, bars, and restaurants. On the accommodation side, the hotel offers rooms in various wings. These include the Lagoon Wing, the Pool Wing, and the Beach Wing.

The Lagoon Wing consists of one, two or three-bedroom suites and all are located on the eastern side of the resort. These rooms are surrounded by beautiful views of the Island and are perfect for larger groups or families, due to the larger living spaces.

The Pool Wing also includes a selection of one, two or three-bedroom suites. The one-bedroom suite has complete private access to the pool, whereas the two and three-bedroom suites both have a pool and ocean view.

Lastly, the Beach Wing also has three options for selection. These include a three-bedroom Hayman beach house, a beachfront pool villa or a retreat room. These private retreats have spectacular views of the Island’s stunning beaches and the beautiful coral sea.

The new and improved Intercontinental has a variety of bars and restaurants, aimed to entertain family dinners, as well as romantic meals for two.Pacific is the hotel’s signature restaurant and bar. The modern Australian restaurant is open from the morning with an endless buffet, to the evening, providing gourmet food and Australia’s best wines, beers, and spirits.

Another favourite restaurant is Amici Trattoria. This contemporary Italian eatery dishes up classic Italian meals such as wood-fired pizza, handmade pasta’s and an extensive Australian and Italian wine list.

For a more relaxing approach to mealtime, Aqua is Hayman’s poolside bar which allows guests to eat, drink, swim and unwind. The little pool-side shack provides guests with easy-to-share seafood dishes, seasonal salad bowls, and tropical drinks such as fresh juices and crisp cocktails.

The Intercontinental also includes Bar Fifty, Grove Boutique & Cafe, and Bam Bam which all offer an extensive variety of delicious food and refreshing drinks.

Another amazing feature that the Intercontinental provides guests with is the utmost service of the concierge team. The team allows and ensures guests to relax, while they organise dinner reservations, taxi bookings, luggage transport, and important event/experience organisation.

The Intercontinental concierge team is able to organise and book a variety of different island experiences for the guests. Such experiences can include stand-up paddleboarding, fishing adventures, sunset escapes, golf simulator, island escapes, scuba diving courses, kayaking adventures, bird walks, hikes, and the list goes on.
