Maritimo: Bespoke Luxury Motor Yachts

Engineering excellence, exceptional integrity, and innovative design, this is the founder and CEO Bill Barry-Cotter’s vision for Maritimo. Barry-Cotter, inspired by Australia’s lifestyle and coastline, is now the most awarded boat builder. He established this luxury company in 2002 and it has now grown to become an international success.

Through unparalleled engineering and distinguished design, Maritimo has proudly become the “World’s finest long-range cruising motor-yachts”. As only around thirty yachts are handcrafted every year, these supreme vessels are highly coveted.

In 1960 Barry-Cotter attained a boat building apprenticeship at Sydney Technical College. He built his first boat at age nineteen, and just six years later he was working for himself having created his first boating company. This business was Mariner Cruisers, and during the proceeding nine years, they built an average of one yacht every week.

Since these early days, Barry-Cotter has founded both Riviera yachts and Maritimo, accomplishing an impressive fifty years of experience in the business.

He is also an avid fan of Class 1 offshore boat-racing. So much so that he repeatedly completes the Sydney to Hobart, the first time being with his brother in 1975. Later, he went on to win the Division C classification of this prestigious race.

His love of racing is reflected in the very foundations of Maritimo Yachts. When taking a turn on one of these crafts the full power steering ensures that each and every twist is responsive and smooth. The lightweight design and durable materials used in the cruiser are built for speed and guaranteed to withstand even the roughest seas.

From the top speed of 280 kilometres per hour to the masterful weight distribution of the vessels, these boats have racing in their DNA.

While racing may be an important influence, in no way does it compromise the exquisite style. Styled by the team at David Stewart Design, each yacht is rich and opulent. Optimised for space and entertaining, you find extensive storage and spacious walkways around deck.

Just as it is elegantly fashioned, each yacht is meticulously built. Maritimo remains the only boat builder in Australia to be awarded an ISO 9001 certification, an international quality management system. Following these standards, every stage of the construction is observed by an independent marine surveyor to check for quality control.

Each element of the production is designed to reinforce structural integrity. Each piece of laminate on the fibreglass bottom on the vessel is hand laid, and the liner for engine room undergoes a bonding process which is patented by the company. With the leading protection on all electrical-systems on-board, you feel safe and secure on a Maritimo-made ship.

These luxury yachts have a copious number of features, all composed to produce an air of luxury and refinement. A perfect example of this is the revolutionary new X60 model.

Starting towards the rear of the fully enclosed flybridge is the expansive galley complete with a stove, oven, large refrigerator and central island. Of course, no kitchen is finished without a built-in wine fridge perfect for entertaining. Looking out to the rear deck are bi-fold doors for seamless indoor-outdoor living.

Moving towards the front of the bow is the living and dining area with two ample couches and an expandable table. At the very front of the internal first floor is the master control station. With plush seats and an ergonomic dashboard, you can captain your ship with style.

At the bow and stern of the flyway are the modern internal staircases leading down to the living quarters and ‘bleach club’ cabana. The living quarters contain a master suite with a luxurious king size bed, and two guest rooms one with a double bed and the other has two singles. The master also includes an ensuite and chaise lounge for your comfort.

The beach club area to the rear is an entertainer’s paradise – a large, custom bar for all your party needs. This cabana area flows seamlessly onto the back deck so you can drink with a lovely ocean view.

If you want to make the most of your local coastline and escape to absolute extravagance nothing can beat a trip on the water on your own Maritimo bespoke luxury yacht.  Trust the acclaimed experience and unparalleled engineering of the most acclaimed boat builder to deliver you a ship that will take you to paradise.
