1: Fraser Island
Fraser Island, just off Queensland’s eastern cost is known for its picturesque attractions and is a popular place for many tourists. It is also the world’s largest sand island. Lake Wabby is one of the best swimming spots of Fraser Island and is rather secluded. The contrast of the bright sand against the deep-blue green of the lake surrounded by lush forest is a perfect example of nature’s luxury escapes. Lake Wabby is also home to the rare honey blue-eye fish as well as eleven other species of fish.
The award-winning Seabelle Restaurant located in Kingfisher Bay Resort is a place any luxury traveller must visit on Fraser Island for a fine dining experience. Seabelle champions contemporary Australian cuisine and maximises its use of native Australian ingredients, local and fresh seafood, with very few ingredients in menu dishes coming from overseas.
2: Noosa
The naturally transformed large rock pools of Noosa Island called the Fairy Pools, are another Australian wonder. The sensationally lucid and coral-decorated waters are a hidden paradise that can be exclusively yours for the day if you time your visit appropriately. Part of visiting this perfect corner of the world, one must walk along the coast of Noosa National Park. The best way to do so is by walking along the coast track from Noosa Main Beach. The journey is not particularly long, however, there are no signs, so directions to the actual Fairy Pools should be consulted online prior to making the trek. Nevertheless, plenty of information and advice is available. Be sure to take some joggers with you as these are best for walking on rocks.
The Sails Restaurant located on Hastings Street, Noosa serves a fusion cuisine with a particular leaning towards modern Australian cuisine. Executive Chef Paul Leete is fresh-centric when it comes to food as he prefers to serve local, seasonal ingredients to showcase the best that each region has to offer.
3: Brisbane
The extraordinary view of the Nudgee tree at Nudgee Beach is magical in itself. However, the truly breathtaking view, i.e. the most instagrammable view, is that of Nudgee Beach with the sun setting over the horizon. The myriad of vivid pink, orange, yellow and blue stripes exquisitely blending together behind the idyllic and salient mangrove tree is beyond imagination. Definitely a moment to experience if ever in Brisbane.
