The Spring 2024 Woman’s Collection is presented in a fabulous runway show for New York Fashion Week. Ralph Lauren makes an outstanding comeback to the Fashion Week schedule, presenting clothing that highlights his signature strengths which are his flawless drapery, seamless tailoring, refined silhouettes, and a touch of romantic charm.
His work commemorates the romance and artistry inherent in his enduring American style, shining a spotlight on artisanal craftsmanship, reinvented classics, and daring styling. From painstakingly hand-embroidered details to the iconic Ricky sarong rendered in liquid gold foil lamé, and a striking finale featuring bold textures and hues, each ensemble embodies the liberation found in authenticity.
He announces that this year’s 2024 Spring collection is about a new generation of romance. This means that it will be a new style of sophisticated and cool. Ralph creates a narrative for all women in his designs whose artistic spirit and individuality paint a canvas for their own self-expression. The collection is abundant freedom of personal style through the creative designs of bold colours and shine, painterly florals and faded denim, modern sophisticated timeless icons represented in black and gold and the handcrafted luxurious details.
Within the collection, most if not all pieces took days to create which showcases the luxury within each design. The portraits of craftsmanship took days to create just single pieces and at times employing 12,960 crystal stones, an enduring dedication to artisanal techniques elevates the silhouettes of Spring 2024 to unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. Embellished denim, over 238 hours and involving six specialized artisans, the denim underwent a transformation process including an eco-friendly stone wash, a burn-out floral print, intricate glass beadwork, and metallic thread embellishments. Macramé Leather involved fifteen specialized embroiderers who meticulously knotted strips of leather over 800 hours, employing a macramé technique to fashion the elaborate pattern and dramatic tiers of fringe. To top it all off, the embroidered beadwork was hand-embroidered with thousands of metallic threadwork and glass beads for the signature Capri shirt, for 23 continuous hours.
If the fabulously hand-crafted clothing designs weren’t enough, there is also the RL 888 designer bag. A new bag collection with a signature, a style, all its own, updated in new luxurious colours and textures for Spring 2024. The bag collection introduces the RL 888 Box Calfskin Top Handle available in black, taupe, pink, pink multi, blue and RL gold. Additionally, the release of the RL 888 Box Calfskin Crossbody is available in colors black, gold, beige, taupe, pink and blue.
Known for hosting star-filled front rows, the evening saw the presence of celebrity guests including Ariana DeBose, Sofia Richie, Gabrielle Union, Jonathan Bailey, Rachel Brosnahan, Jennifer Lopez, Charles Melton, Cara Delevingne, Amanda Seyfried, and Emma Roberts.
Following the show, attendees enjoyed an elegant dinner featuring classic American cuisine, showcasing Mr Lauren’s favourites from The Polo Bar in New York. To summarise, the Spring 2024 Women’s Collection was unquestionably one to be remembered with fabulous one-of-a-kind luxurious designs.
