Riverside Perth Mansion up for Sale

At 8 Majestic Close, Applecross is one of Perth’s most beautiful and iconic mansions. The large eight-bedroom mansion stands on the waterfront of the Swan River and looks across the river to the city centre. The house stands tall and grandiose amongst the landscaped gardens on a 2,508sqm block of prime land and has 38m of river frontage. Inspiration for the mansion design is drawn from Floridian and Mediterranean architecture and the works of American architect Addison Mizner, the most famous American architect of the 1920s.

The entrance to the property shows off the landscaped gardens, with the driveway circling a manicured lawn with a water feature and sculpture in the middle. You enter through the Porte-cochère and large glass entrance doors into the vestibule. Inside the foyer is a large antique chandelier that makes the travertine flooring shimmer. The ground floor is the largest of the mansion’s floors. It contains a formal dining room, open plan kitchen, meals area, living area, dedicated office, guest suite with ensuite and living room with coffered ceilings, which is separated from the formal dining room by a glass wall. Moreover, the entire east wing of the ground floor is the master suite which includes its own library, dressing room, ensuite and private views of the river.

All three floors are connected via a spiral staircase with wrought iron railings and antique French wall lights. The first floor has three bedrooms, each with a walk-in-robe and ensuite; it also has three private balconies, each with a unique view of the Swan River. The undercroft features a fully equipped separate one-bedroom apartment, maid’s quarters, theatre room, additional bathroom, gym, 800 bottle wine cellar, separate workshop and a garage that holds up to nine cars. Furthermore, the undercroft leads to the large lap pool overlooking the river and the outdoor poolside entertaining area. 8 Majestic Close was built with entertaining ability being a top priority; not only does it have the poolside entertaining area, but it also has an alfresco dining area up a level to capitalize on the stunning views offered by the Swan River. Other notable features present throughout the house are the Mahogany cabinetry, Echelar render, cathedral style ceilings, and the Gothic framed windows.

8 Majestic Close is nearby to everything you might need or want in life. It is 5 minutes from the South of Perth Yacht Club, walking distance to multiple local riverside parks, a short walk to Ardross Street Village and many local cafes. Furthermore, it is a 15-minute drive from the city centre of Perth and a 25-minute drive from Perth Airport.

With all the benefits of living at 8 Majestic Close, Applecross, why not jump at your chance to own an iconic piece of Perth?
