Celebrity Cruises has announced its latest ship, Celebrity Beyond, as the newest addition to the premium cruise sector. Part of the ultra-luxurious Edge Series, the $1 billion vessel will feature some of the most indulgent experiences you can have at sea.
Like its predecessors, the Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Apex, the new 3260- passenger ship will be large enough for abundant amenities and entertainment choice, yet still retain the brand’s design chic, sophistication and high service levels that can often be lost on mega-ships.

Due for completion in 2022, the ship will stand 17 decks high and 21 meters longer than the previous Celebrity Edge. Essentially, the Celebrity beyond will build upon the design of the last Edge Series class ships, offering more luxurious versions of the brand’s most popular signature spaces. The luxury mega-ship will share many of the features of its two predecessors; however, it will amplify it to an even higher level.
The lead architect on its interiors, Tom Wright, is best known for his work on the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai, while renowned contributing designers include Nate Berkus and Kelly Hoppen. With the announcement of the new mega-ship, Gwyneth Paltrow is coming on as the company’s new wellbeing adviser. Details are still forthcoming, but AquaClass gusts across the Celebrity Cruises fleet will receive fitness kits from Paltrow’s lifestyle brand Goop.

“We focused on providing more openness, height and spaciousness throughout the ship’s most popular spaces,” says Richard Fain, chairman of parent company Royal Caribbean Group. “The result is a next-generation ship that embodies the intersection of architecture and design.”
Among new or reimagined spaces is an expanded rooftop garden and resort deck with cantilevered pools, a much larger multi-level sunset bar with terraces where you can gaze from the ship’s aft, and a resort area exclusive to suite guests called The Retreat.
This exclusive area was designed by Kelly Hoppen and features a two-level sundeck offering secluded cabanas, chic seating and water features.

At the heart of The Spa on all Celebrity Edge Series ships is the Sea Thermal Suite and its eight distinct spaces. Complimentary for all AquaClass guests, it’s a playground for the senses. It’s here where guests can clear their mind, fine-tune their body, and reinvigorate their spirit. The Spa on Celebrity Beyond is a 13,907- square-foot escape featuring more than 120 unique treatments.
The ship will also feature the first fine-dining restaurant at sea from Michelin- starred French chef Daniel Boulud, well known for his numerous restaurants in North America, such as the Daniel in New York.
Celebrity Beyond departs on its maiden voyage from Southampton on April 27, 2022, and will sail Mediterranean journeys before heading across the Atlantic to the Caribbean in October 2022.
