London-based Savoir Beds has released its newest luxury 360-degree rotating mattress, titled ‘Three Sixty’. The design includes various features, combining technology, style and comfort to unveil new levels of luxury.
What should you do when you can’t decide which fabulous view to gaze upon while lying in bed? This was a question posed to Alistair Hughes from Savoir Beds by a client while furnishing his chateau in the south of France.
The client wanted to sleep looking at the fireplace and wake up looking upon the gardens through the window. The solution to the client’s problem: Savoir Beds’ newest design, the ‘Three Sixty’.
The world’s first fully-rotating bed has a starting price of $317,806, available exclusively at Harrods.
Savoir as a brand offers its client’s handcrafted mattresses, with each mattress made by a singular craftsman and tailored to their client’s requests. The brand’s first bed was designed in 1905 for The Savoy Hotel in central London.
The beds quickly became a strong favourite of Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra, among other celebrities, for their extreme comfort and quality. 100 years on, the brand continues to deliver exceptional beds, blessing us again with their newest creation.
The company uses all-natural materials and traditional handcrafting techniques to ensure their beds stand the test of time. The company makes fewer than 1000 luxury beds a year, ensuring quality over quantity.
The ‘Three Sixty’s’ design includes an elegant bird’s eye maple veneer frame, with the veneer flowing on around the sphere of the bed. The bed’s smoothly curved exterior is calming as well as pleasing to the eye, covered in brilliant soft leather.
The interior of the bed’s arch is detailed with delicate 100% cotton velvet, proving irresistible to touch. A sense of privacy is created from the cocoon-like interior of the bed, complemented by the precise stitching flowing vertically downwards. The chosen fabric and textures flow together effortlessly, create the ultimate aesthetic.
The ‘Three Sixty’ uses turntable technology, allowing you to rotate a full 360 degrees, with movement controlled via an app. The 360-degree turntable moves incredibly smoothly, allowing different speeds controlled by the user. The bed is also equipped with discreetly-placed bright reading lights, along with power and USB outlets.
The use of indigenous species of Mongolian Yak hair within the topper ensures the mattress is both soft yet supportive, as it is filled with Yak hair which has been hand-combed from 40 yaks. The hair has incredible breathability while being waterproof and softer than cashmere.
The bed is 8ft in diameter and takes over 300 hours to make, during which 120 hours are set for the creation of the bed set and 180 to the supporting headboard and frame.
