International cruise company Silversea welcomes its twelfth luxury cruise ship, the Silver Nova. With its innovative and sustainable design, this latest vessel is set to revolutionise the future of ocean travel into a new age of grandeur. The 54,700-tonne vessel features a uniquely asymmetric design that will provide its 728 guests with the most spacious and immersive experience to date. In contrast to traditional cruise ships, the Nova has been designed with all public areas on one side of the Ship, creating a more seamless and flowing space. This design also provides a greater region for Nova’s show-stopping 4000-metre square glass wall. In addition to the multiple glazed balconies and verandas, Silversea’s newest cruise ship boasts one of the greatest open-air voyages available. Setting sail from Cairns in November 2024, here is a closer look at what passengers can expect when boarding the Silver Nova next summer.
First, guests need to decide where they would like to stay for the duration of their voyage; the Silver Nova provides some of the most luxurious accommodations available on any of the Silversea cruise ships.
Located in the premium aft corner position, the Otium suite has access to an unprecedented 270˚ view that gives guests a premium viewpoint of each destination from the comfort of their room. Inside, the suite possesses the highest square footage onboard. Allowing room for a spacious bedroom with a luxurious walk-in closet, plus a large bathroom with deluxe fittings. The expansive living area also gives guests access to the 40m2 balcony, complete with a private whirlpool for guests to enjoy.
The Silver Nova also features two exclusive suites, the Master Suite and the Signature Suite. The former is located in the same section of the ship as the Otium and sports the same stunning view from its incredible floor-to-ceiling windows, although it is more compact. Alternatively, the Signature Suite offers a larger space with a secluded bedroom that is separated from the combined living and dining area. This suite also includes a large bathroom with luxury furnishings like a whirlpool and walk-in shower.
These suites only represent a fraction of what the Silver Nova has to offer, as guests will have the option of thirteen different suites to choose from, all of which feature a stunning view, courtesy of the immense stretch of windows.
After guests have made themselves at home in their deluxe suites, the Silver Nova offers a selection of entertainment and activities for them to experience and enjoy.
Occupying the top two levels of the ship, the pool deck is the optimal space for guests to relax, refresh and rejuvenate. Its main attraction comes in the form of The Cliff Whirlpool, a glass-fronted, infinity-edge pool that maximises the stunning 270° view. When guests need a quiet haven to soak in the sun, the upper sun deck offers the perfect space to take in the sights while they unwind.
For more in-depth relaxation, guests can book in a treatment at the ship’s Otium Spa. The spa offers a range of remedies, including massages and facials. For those staying in the Otium Suite, access to a Spa treatment amounting up to $623 per person is included for two guests. The spa’s sauna and steam room are also the perfect spot to recover after a workout at the ship’s state-of-the-art Fitness Centre. Guests will have access to Technogym equipment, free weights, and a range of specialty classes to stay active while on board. Personal trainers will also be available to provide tailored programs and sessions catering to every body type and needs.
When it heads into the evening, guests will have a host of culinary delights to choose from. The Silversea’s signature S.A.L.T eateries return in its newest addition, delivering a range of fine dining and cocktails inspired and featuring flavours from each destination on the cruise. They also provide two immersive experiences for guests to heighten their engagement in the culinary delights of the regions they will visit. At the S.A.L.T Lab, guests will join the talented chefs in workshops, lectures, and demonstrations to receive an in-depth understanding of the places featured on their journey. For a fully catered experience, the S.A.L.T Chef’s Table provides a unique menu of small plates with selected wines and cocktails to highlight star ingredients from each area. Reservations at the Chef’s Table can only be made onboard Silver Nova and will require a fee of $280, which will include all complimentary drinks.
In addition, the Silver Nova features several exclusive dining establishments for guests looking for a particular style of cuisine. The Italian inspired La Terrazza features an extensive menu of authentic pasta, antipasto, risotto, and ragu that guests can enjoy on their elegant outdoor terrace. Alternatively, La Dame features the very best of French dining, with an exquisite a la carte menu and carefully curated wine list. For a fee of $249, guests can reserve a table ahead of their trip to ensure they get a taste. Similarly, for a $124 reservation fee, guests can guarantee a table at the ship’s Japanese fusion restaurant, Kaiseki. Each dish has been meticulously crafted with influences from authentic Japanese ingredients used in meals and for health benefits, creating a beautifully constructed menu to pair with a selection of sake and tea.
The Silver Nova will be making trips from and around Australia from November 2024, with trips ranging from 16 to 34 days on board. For example, the highly anticipated 18-day voyage from Melbourne to Singapore in February 2025 starts at $19,500 per person for a door-to-door service.
