Sydney’s Best Rooftop Bars

Rooftop Bars

Sydney is well known for some exquisite hotels, pubs and bars. Below are some of the most spectacular rooftop bars, with inviting views and unreal food and drinks.

East Village Hotel – Slim’s

The East Village hotel in Darlinghurst has one of the most vibrant and spectacular rooftop bars; Slim’s Rooftop. With skyline views of the city and an appetising drink menu, there’s a reason as to why you’ll need to arrive early.

During the summer time, Slim’s is packed from midday onwards with many people ordering refreshing drinks and delicious nibbles continuing on into the night. The day-lights saving sun makes the experience a perfect spot for a relaxing summer Sunday session.

However, the hotel isn’t just popular in the summertime, with Slim’s creating their ‘Winter Garden’ throughout the colder months of the year. The Winter Garden is still located on Slim’s rooftop but undergoes a beautiful transition into a winter wonderland. The rooftop becomes decked out in plants that look like snow and fairy lights encapsulating a white Christmas. The menu also makes adjustments, incorporating some warmer drinks such as; mulled wine and mulled cider. Additionally, the Winter Garden also adds on some food specials, including deep fried Camembert and Nutella cinnamon waffles.

The venue is perfect for both summertime, winter time and everything in between.

The Light Brigade

The Light Brigade is a stunning pub/bar located in the heart of Paddington which provides incredible views over the city of Sydney. The four level bar increases the elegance and luxury on each level and provides delicious food and refreshing drinks.

The bar incorporates a beautiful rooftop with low slung lounges and a stunning garden deck. This makes it the perfect destination over the summer time, benefitting from the late afternoon sun.

Each level specialises in something different, whether that be food, drink or interior design. However, the Rooftop has a well-executed drink list, comprising of wines, champagne, tap beer, bottled beer and classic cocktails. The Brigade Lounge has a more extensive drink list with twenty-seven different cocktails, ranging from gin, vodka, rum and bourbon.

All levels have a considerable food menu that ranges from tacos, pizza, burgers and salad, with the drinks list matching every cuisine. This pub is all about good atmosphere and relaxed vibes – although, a great night to go would be when there is a home game of rugby or cricket at the local Allianz Stadium and SCG.

The Glenmore Hotel

The Glenmore Hotel is based down in the Rocks of Sydney’s city. With spectacular views and a large drink and food list, there’s no wonder this place hits capacity quickly. The hotel has a broad variety of events that all can take part in, such as Acoustic Sunday, Friday night raffles and special events such as the Melbourne Cup.

The drink menu consists of many classic cocktails but also a few creative and original ones, which all sound extremely flavourful and refreshing. These range from the classic Espresso Martini to So What, which is made with Don Julio Anejo Tequila, Plymouth Sloe Gin, Blueberries, Lemon and Prosecco.

The food menu is just as extensive, providing guests with the option to share meals, as well as indulge with their own main.

If you’re lucky enough and choose to visit the rooftop on the right night, there is a chance that you get to see the local fireworks go off. Although, make sure you get there early enough on their busy weekend nights – as there are limited seats available on the rooftop.
