TAG Heuer re-opens its Sydney flagship boutique right on the corner of Market Street and Pitt Street in the heart of the central business district. Here, watch collectors and aficionados alike are promised a luxurious experience through a new retail design concept in what is tagged as “one of the most important boutiques in the TAG Heuer network.
Thanks to TAG Heuer’s in-house architectural and design team, the reimagined 114-square-metre boutique now reflects the brand’s realignment whilst highlighting its four core areas of expression: heritage, art, lifestyle, and sport. Apart from large open windows that allow guests to have a look at the inner workings of the showroom, they will be captivated by the vegetal design, originating from the triangular shape of the TAG Heuer shield, in different scales on the boutique’s exterior. Rigid yet stylish lines are also reminiscent of a watch mechanism and reflect the brand’s mindset of #DontCrackUnderPressure, as well as the concepts that the brand embodies, including innovation, performance, and avant-garde spirit.
The reinterpretation of the TAG Heuer shield then continues into the interior of the boutique. The grey and black monotones that represent the brand’s aesthetic complement the use of stone, a reference to the Swiss roots, heritage, and craftsmanship of the brand, but blue accents were also included as a tribute to the brand’s iconic Monaco collection. On the other hand, the mix of traditional with innovative materials such as stone and wood serves as an expression of the brand’s spirit, allowing for a lively platform for the TAG Heuer collection.
One of the main highlights of the boutique is the exquisite display of TAG Heuer’s iconic timepieces, including the renowned Carrera and Monaco collections and the Connected watches. The opening is also a celebration of the arrival of the brand’s newly released Aquaracer ceramic collection.
To officially open the boutique, TAG Heuer’s General Manager for Australia, Van Mulryan, cut the ribbon alongside Jamie Durie and Torah Bright, who are friends of the brand. Brand Ambassador Patrick Dempsey was also flown out to mark the occasion, along with newly appointed CEO Julien Tornare, and other VIP clients.
Then, to wrap up the event, guests and select media were invited to continue the celebration at the Machine Hall Precint. Here, guests were treated to a showcase of vintage Heuers as an ode to the brand’s rich history in watchmaking before attending a lavish dinner.
The iconic Swiss luxury watchmaker was founded in 1860 and gradually gained prominence for the sleek watches they made that were centred on technicality and advanced movements. The brand’s inspiring history was outlined in the event, featuring a variety of rare TAG Heuer movements from different points in time displayed in consecutive order of their release.
TAG Heuer has since been recognised as a prominent figure in the realm of haute horlogerie. Having garnered a renowned global reputation for creating superb timepieces that are of the highest quality, everyone can expect only the best from the brand’s reimagined flagship boutique in Sydney.
