The All-New Vast 72

Luxury yachts are the ultimate expression of wealth, opportunity and adventure. The possibilities for exploring the great oceans, hidden caves and indulging in an exclusive lifestyle experience are endless. According to a global leader in yacht brokerage, Ocean Independence, “A yacht is a home from home”. Ocean Independence’s latest superyacht concept, Vast 72, lives up to this expression. The 236-foot vessel is packed with exquisite amenities and experiential spaces.

“Balanced, exceptional and something new, a design that we can’t categorize as strictly art deco or modern”

The stunning new project is a collaborative expression of the skills of industry-leading designers. Yacht designers Christopher Seymour and Carl Esch teamed up to produce the exterior architecture for the vessel. The external aesthetic of Vast is characterized by geometric, sleek lines complemented by an avid use of glass. According to the company statement, a modern, streamlined bow is incorporated into a “low-profile design” to increase efficiency and structural capabilities. Project Manager Carl Esch of Castelmain Yachts stated, “We conceived the initial design for Vast 72m together with our design partner Christopher Seymour, with a clear vision of what we wanted to create, a sharp, modern and unique looking superyacht inside and out”.

The modern exterior is just the beginning of the superb vessel design. Interior designer Theodoros Fotadis joins the mix creating a standout interior design. Esch stated that Fotadis was elected “because he has a unique yacht approach, a unique, exceptional, vast 72 deserves a very special interior.” It features stylized forms and a geometric style amongst a series of unique architectural elements. Foti’s comments on the art-deco inside stating, it is “an interior that not only is beautiful but speaks for its space, offering a nice refreshing feeling all wrapped up in a serious and robust Art deco style. Balanced, exceptional and something new”. Standouts include the social and dining areas central to the superyachts main deck layout. Fotadis intentionally filled the space with hues of cream and metallic exteriors to reflect the light beams that stream through. The area also includes a large, off-centre spiral staircase with a glass elevator to further the light that permeates the room in a contemporary touch.

Vast 72 is designed to focus on entertainment and remove the barriers between the outdoor and indoor spaces. Walkthrough entertainment areas on the stern and deck beach club intersect with the foredeck’s main deck and living areas. The structure comprises a large dining table to starboard and a lounge to port space big enough to facilitate events from “whimsical parties” to family celebrations. The spacious area extends hydraulic platforms on either side, enabling a large open floor plan for entertaining, naturally lit by rays that come through the internal architecture.

Onboard amenities include six large rooms that can sleep 12 individuals plus onboard accommodation for 15 crew members. The main staircase gives guests access to all decks and chambers, while the crew has their discrete entrance and stairwells. Central on the main deck is the master suite, complete with two dressing rooms, an office, and balconies to access the upper deck. Complimentary facilities include a gym, massage room helipad and to top it off three pools!. Also on deck is a beach club with a bar and swim-up bar with a platform with direct access to the ocean.  Vast 72 carries enough space for two tenders, four jet skis and all the water toys you own.

Ocean Independence has not yet released the chosen builder; however, it is expected to take approximately 48 months to complete. According to their statements, the Vast 72 should start exploring as early as 2023.

If you want to explore the world and experience the ultimate in luxury, the Vast 72 is the opportunity to do so.
