This year, the renowned All-Australian yacht maker Maritimo celebrated its 20th anniversary with a spectacular showcase at their Boat Show at Sanctuary Cove marina. In addition to displaying five of their current headline models, the company unveiled their latest masterpiece, the Maritimo M75. First teased in December 2021, this showstopper has been five years in the making, with more than 120,000 hours of research, building and design going into meticulously crafting the first model. With so much care and consideration going into its development, it is no surprise that the Maritimo M75 is the most anticipated luxury yacht on the market, garnering around $100,000 million in pre-order sales.
The profile of the M75 is easily identifiable, with its streamlined curvature, panoramic hull windows and exterior fly wings. In addition to helping the yacht stand out, these features are also functional to the boat’s performance by adding a layer of protection and ensuring a smooth and stable sail in any conditions. This interweaving between style and practicality is prevalent throughout the build, particularly in the design of the aft section. As one of the yacht’s defining characteristics, this uniquely expansive area uses a hydraulic platform that can be manoeuvred to allow access to additional storage on board. Typically functioning as an adventure deck, the flooring can be retracted to reveal a spacious garage space perfect for storing supplies like water sports equipment and scuba gear. Additionally, the deck can be extended to create an area to mount jet skis or a tender.
The M75 easily stands out from previous Maritimo yachts, as it features the largest hull windows produced by the company to date. Being accompanied by multiple skylight hatches, this emphasis on glass in the yacht’s design perfectly blends the indoor and outdoor spaces to create a light and sunny atmosphere on board. Additionally, passengers can enjoy an outstanding 270-degree ocean view from the comfort of the yacht’s spacious interior. With two distinct lounge areas, passengers have ample space to relax and rejuvenate. One of the stand-out elements in the M75’s design is the flybridge sky lounge, an enclosed and climate-controlled zone that can be accessed via a glass-panelled internal staircase. The sky lounge is furnished with modular furniture to allow for full customisability to transform the layout of the room. With a mounted TV, dining arrangements and additional sleeping facilities, this area is designed to be flexible and altered to fit the guests’ needs. Moreover, the flybridge’s hardtop cover provides ample shade during the day, while the electric roller blinds can be deployed for more privacy or protection from the elements.
The secondary lounge offers even more space and includes dedicated lounging and dining sections with direct access to the bespoke galley kitchen. This lounge also houses a state-of-the-art 65-inch television on an electric lift, allowing passengers to move its position and ensure premium visibility from around the room. This lounge is also where the staircase to the upper lounge is located, creating a light-filled open atrium in the centre of the space. Equally, the area behind the stairs has been utilised into a laundry room with a washer, dryer, and pull-out locker. This perfectly encapsulates how the creatives behind the M75 have set a new level of functional design within the yacht-building industry.
The saloon lounge is also where passengers can access the four deluxe bedrooms featured on board. Three of these staterooms are fitted with their private ensuite, the largest of which is a three-quarter beam bathroom with custom fixtures and a capacious walk-in shower. Connected to the master suite, this bathroom is one of several deluxe features of this bedroom. The master suite also includes a walk-in closet, an off-set king-size bed, and the choice of a lounge area or desk space. The other ensuite bathrooms can be found in two guest bedrooms, the first of which is the VIP guest bedroom, a smaller version of the master layout with a queen bed. The secondary guestroom is a twin-bed suite that can be modified into a double bedroom when needed. Finally, the last bedroom is a deluxe bunk room, with its smaller proportions making it the perfect space for a teen or young adult. With such extravagant standards of living, the Maritimo M75 offers a new level of luxury at sea.
In addition to its exceptional design and stunning interiors, the M75 sports one of the best engines available today. Powering the Maritimo M75 is a pair of Scania Di16 inboard engines, delivering 1150hp to the yacht’s ultra-efficient 5-blade Nibral Propellers. Combined with the M75’s 10,000-litre fuel capacity, this set-up ensures the smoothest intercontinental passage with minimal stops and exceptional performance. For those seeking a more formidable experience, Maritimo offers optional engine alternatives, like twin MTU engines, which provide up to 1625hp each.
Regardless of the many modifications on offer, Maritimo guarantees that each vessel is hand-made to order, with skilled shipbuilders requiring 35,000 hours to create a singular model. With this level of care and consideration going into its manufacturing, the Maritime M75 is certain to be a testament to the company’s prowess in nautical engineering. It is poised to redefine luxury cruising, setting a new standard for long-range capability, comfort, and style on the open seas when it finally sets sail later this year.
