A vision of Venice has been discovered in the heart of Perth. This luxurious 6 bedroom home is an Italian inspired palazzo fit with its own Venetian canal and ceramic murals all hand painted. This hidden beauty is tucked away in the suburb of Wembley in Perth, Western Australia. Drawing together the warm, romantic, dusky vibes of Venice this Italian inspired architecture is truly a little slice of Venice.
The spectacular mansion was built by a couple, Innocenzo and Sonya Tizzano, originally from to the Amalfi coast. Their desire to ‘never miss home’ inspired them to create the one a kind property. It was Mister Tizzano who was dedicated to delivering the replication of the couple’s well-loved home. Named the ‘Villa Capri’, the construction of the glorious mansion was complete in 1996. Safe to say, there is an abundance of love within these walls.
“Follow your dreams is what I say. I wanted to live in Perth because I loved the weather and the water but I didn’t have anything that reminded me of home, so I brought Capri and Venice to Perth. I created something that reminded me of home.” Mr. Tizzano said.
The dream home is built on four levels, with two kitchens, two laundries, two powder rooms, two roomy living areas, five grand bathrooms, two offices and the Venetian style canal separating the two blocks.
This living space of the overall mansion is a whopping 800 square metres.
Inside and out, the stunning palace is flooded with European features. Crema Malif Spanish marble coats the homes downstairs floors and surrounding the walls are bevelled glass panels with wrought iron windows.
Italian handmade Venetian Murano chandeliers hang from high ceilings, surrounded by secure, sandstorm walls and also hand painted, ceramic murals that originate from Vietri Sul Mare decorate the home walls.
The Venetian canal that replicates the San Marco Square is a distinct extra addition to the Venice masterpiece. This unique indoor pool sets the ‘Villa Capri’ aside from the rest, it divides the house into two separate houses ideally.
Equipped with the works, this $3.25 million property set a new sale record for the Perth suburb of Wembley.
The bolder columns made from stone are replicas of the columns found on the Grand Canal terraces in Venice. The columns are situated all around the house, inside and out. This made their vision of an authentic Italian dream home come to life as features were combined together.
Additional luxurious features added to the home were the two waterfalls located out back, a fairy-tale style bridge, authentic wood-fired pizza oven, an attic fit with disco lights, an in-home movie theatre and a glass elevator that connects the center of the home that takes you to the third and fourth floor. It was Mr. Tizzano’s desire to make their home a place of magic, as well as traditional love.
Built 20 years ago, the Venetian inspired masterpiece has resembled as a monastery. The interior design also infuses Mediterranean vibes. The modernised, rustic style furniture and trimmings set the scene, infusing perfectly with the specialised European architecture.
Decorated with ancient Italian artifacts and artwork there is genuine devotion to their love of their home country in every room. This one of kind construction really appreciates the depth of love and commitment to a heritage and beautiful home destination. The ‘Villa Capri’ truly does display a real Venice in Perth perception.
