Australia’s biggest event of light, music and creativity has returned for its eleventh year to Sydney Harbour, Vivid Sydney. This lively and wonderful experience of lights, music and ideas commenced on Friday the 24th of May and will be here to excite until Saturday the 15th of June 2019.
Starting in 2008 in Sydney’s Central Business District, Sydney Vivid Festival was a response to a May dip in tourism and has now grown into its own Sydney icon, offering a variety of events and experiences for everyone to enjoy and even be involved within the festival. Vivid Sydney has since in the last few years expanded its horizons to locations close by such as Chatswood, Luna Park located in Milsons Point and even Sydney’s famous, Taronga Zoo.
Vivid Sydney is truly a significant event where attendees contributed $173AUD million to tourism over the 23 days of the festival. Some locations of this year’s installations and interactions include Circular Quay in a spectacular way, large projects to lights on Harbour Boats, sculptures and a large variety of innovation that will complete your experience, First Fleet Park will be engaged for children, adults and families. Including a theme of technology throughout the park with a modern twist, The Museum of Contemporary Art and Customs House, The Rocks and Vivid Light Walk will have installations and projects throughout.
