Matt Moran’s well-established restaurant located in Sydney’s beautiful Barangaroo area is one of his major portfolio highlights. What makes Barangaroo House stand out as a luxe dining venue is the unique exterior and the collection of elite events that take place there.
The three-leveled waterfront destination hosts three special rooms: House Bar, Bea Restaurant, and Smoke Rooftop Bar. Each level holds a different aroma to cater to different tastes. The layers of Barangaroo House offer luxury infused with unique character, something new to the table for Sydney.
Working our way down, we start on level 1: House Bar. The bar has “something for everyone”; bar bites, a selection of seasonal salads and also more substantial meals. All of the menu items are the classics with some added flavour to separate the connotation of classics being average; the food here is anything but standard.
The bar is on the waterfront with stunning views to make your dining experience just that bit more exceptional. The drinks menu offer Australia’s favourite selection of reds, whites and sparkling, as well as a few classic cocktails to choose from for the perfect afternoon session. The vibe is warm, the drinks are cool, the food is hot.
On the next level sits Bea Restaurant. Here it’s more about the cocktails with a twist and the established, quintessentially Australian menu. Moran has always been the face of using native Australian ingredients, and the hype around Modern Australian-themed restaurants and bars continues to flourish.
The enchanting House Spritz this season consists of Regal Rogue white, elderflower, grapefruit soda, Prosecco and grapefruit. The art-deco inspired interiors match the vibrant cocktails and the perfectly-ensembled dishes.
The standout dishes created by executive chef, Tom Haynes, come from the desserts menu. Just to name a few, there is the Berries, Bubblegum; the Smoked pear, ginger, caramel; and the Petit fours which consist of salted caramel bonbon, whiskey gel, Ribery, musk stick, and Davidson plum marshmallow.
How’s that for extraordinary? In one of Australia’s biggest cosmopolitan cities, where the culinary industry is constantly fighting for consumers by offering pizzazz and luxury, Bea Restaurant takes the cake.
We reach the top level: The Smoke Rooftop Bar. With harbour and city skyline views with the water just below, the Smoke Rooftop bar should be your first choice for a night on the town with work colleagues or friends or for a romantic date night with your loved one.
The luxury cocktail lounge is quintessentially old-fashioned and perfectly complements the drinks and food menu. A high recommendation is to focus on the martini menu; you can’t go wrong. The Smokey Martini is the one every guest has their eyes on: a concoction of strawberry infused gin, Martini Ambrato, raspberry and orange blossom.
The Barangaroo House has also hosted many luxe events including the Harper’s BAZAAR 20th Anniversary party with an elite guest list including TV stars and renowned celebrities.
For your next day or night outing, choose fun: choose Barangaroo House.
