Salt at Shoal Bay – Luxury On The Coast

Salt at Shoal Bay

Salt is located in Shoal Bay; the most eastern point of the Port Stephens area in the Hunter Region of New South Wales. The luxury coastal accommodation is new to the area and has been a show-stopper since opening, with almost every weekend booked out until January 2020. The beautifully designed property has three accommodation options, these include The Upper Level, The Ground Floor and The Cottage.

All accommodation options have a similar style and vibe, which is very island-luxe mixed with coastal-beach house. The neutral and natural palette chosen for the interior and exterior design boasts calmness and relaxation.

Owner and creator, Lauren Charge mentions that when designing she was conscious of how colour can affect the mood of people. This is why she decided to keep the palette neutral for a calming effect, but also added some texture from artwork and furniture to give some character.

Salt One

Salt one is the upper level of the luxurious home and sleeps eleven people; eight adults and three children. This level offers one king master with ensuite, two queen bedrooms and one queen bedroom with a triple bunk. With large glass windows, guests will experience amazing panoramic views of the bay, perfect for sunrise and sunset watching.

The master bedroom has its own private balcony, which also encapsulates stunning water views. The upper level offers a broad variety of features including, a gas fireplace, an outdoor hot shower and BBQ facilities.

Salt Two

Salt Two is another option guests can choose from and is located on the ground floor of the house. This level sleeps ten people; with eight adults and two children, and has one queen master with ensuite, three queen bedrooms and one queen sofa bed in the media room. The ground floor features a private backyard deck, outdoor dining and a BBQ area for guests to enjoy. This level also includes a side balcony which gives guests stunning views of the headlands.

Salt Three

Salt Three is the cottage, which is the smallest, sleeping six people; four adults and two children. The two-storey cottage has its own private access at the South end of the property, offering guests ultimate peace and privacy.

The cottage also includes a large outdoor courtyard which opens up from the dining and living area. The open plan of the cottage makes for a homey vibe, creating a perfect place for relaxation. Additionally, the courtyard offers picturesque views of the headlands.

Each accommodation option has a private hot outdoor shower which is a huge attraction for those winter holidays after a frosty swim at the beach across the road. “To come back after a swim and have a quick hot outdoor shower before warming up by the fire with a coffee in hand is a beautiful feeling”.

Salt has grown incredibly over the past year and has become one of the most idyllic and in-demand family holiday stay in the Port Stephens area. The boutique housing provides the perfect coastal luxury accommodation for large groups and families, allowing them all to stay together but within their own private space.
