Australia’s Finest Gourmet Dining Experiences By The Water

Kodari magazine has compiled Australia’s finest gourmet food experiences that take place on the water:

Dalwhinnie Wine Lunch – Lake House, Victoria

Hosted by winemaker David Jones on Saturday the 11th of May from 12 pm to 4 pm, the Lake House Wine Lunch offers an exquisite four-course lunch showcasing their wines from the spectacular Dalwhinnie vineyard.

The Dalwhinnie Vineyard is one of Victoria’s oldest family-run vineyards of 37 years,  acclaimed as a ‘super-premium’ producer of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay.

High-profile guest at the Lakehouse, James Halliday, disclosed that Dalwhinnie offers“wines with tremendous depth of flavour, reflecting the relatively low-yielding but well-maintained vineyards.

The vineyards are dry-grown and managed organically, hence the low yield, but the quality more than compensates.”

Tickets are from $295 at the Lakehouse website.

Dom Pérignon Retreat – Lizard Island, Queensland

Dom Pérignon partners with Lizard Island to provide guests with the ultimate luxurious dining retreat. The experience in Cairns, Queensland, starts off with an opulent voyage including the Dom Pérignon ‘Reef Discovery’ and ‘Private Beach Picnic’. A private boat charter will lead guests on a snorkelling tour of the world-renowned Great Barrier Reef. This is followed by a chilled glass of Dom Pérignon whilst guests are transferred to a picturesque region of the island, Sunset Beach, for a private picnic. They can then indulge in a decadent seafood smorgasbord perfectly paired with Dom Pérignon 2009.

An alternative experience includes a beachside Dom Pérignon ‘Dining Under the Stars’ experience where two to ten guests can relish the champagnes of Dom Pérignon underneath Lizard Island’s majestic starlit skies. Guests can enjoy Dom Pérignon’s P2 2000 Champagne, paired with the island’s freshest,  locally sourced produce and seafood prepared by their executive chef, Ryan Locke.

Guests seeking to enhance their experience have the opportunity to upgrade their luxurious suites to include Dom Pérignon retreat amenities as well as savour an iced bottle of Dom Perignon on arrival.

The Lizard Island Executive Director, Greg Magi, revealed; “Lizard Island is the only place travellers can indulge in this unique experience of the Great Barrier Reef and we are proud to present it in partnership with Dom Pérignon, a world leader in luxury”.

Prices start from $1,410 for two at the Lizard Island website.
