Porsche Partners with Deutsche Hospitality to Launch Luxury Hotels

Luxury car brand Porsche are branching out into luxury hotels in partnership with German company Deutsche Hospitality.

This partnership is coordinated through their subsidiary, Porsche Design, which controls Porsche’s watches, glasses, bags, electronics, accessories, and fashion collections. Together Porsche Design and Deutsche Hospitality are presenting the Steigenberger Porsche Design Hotels. 

Multiple bustling and globally connected cities have already been chosen to be the destinations for luxury hotels. Up to 15 hotels will be established in cities such as London, Singapore, Dubai and Shanghai. Although we do not know when the hotels will be built, many features were announced. Every hotel will include at least 150 rooms, suites and penthouses, an exceptional restaurant and bar concept, “Meet and Greet Cubes”, health and beauty facilities and a gym with an area of at least 1,000-square-metres. This partnership will aim to marry the design philosophy and values of Porsche Design with the hospitality and service of a Steigenberger hotel so that guests can experience the best of design, technology and lifestyle.

The CEO of Steigenberger Hotels AG/Deutsche Hospitality, Marcus Bernhardt, said this about the partnership “Our joint goal is to establish a new hotel product for a global target group which seeks uniqueness and which as the highest aspirations regarding quality”. Speaking about the hotels, the CEO of Porsche Design Group, Dr Jan Becker, emphasized the exceptional spatial and lighting concept that, although unusual, is all a part of Porsche’s continual innovation in the design and lifestyle areas. Furthermore, she said, “Innovative rooms and suites will feature a singular design and interior which captures the spirit of the environment.” These innovations in hotel quality will provide guests with extraordinary experiences in some of the most breath-taking locations in the world. In addition, these innovations will meet the growing requirements that luxury consumers have for individuality, exclusivity and design. 

Porsche Design was founded in 1972 by Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, the grandson of Porsche’s founder, Ferdinand Porsche. Wanting to expand the luxury brand farther than cars, Porsche Design transports the company’s principles beyond the confines of a vehicle. Albert Steigenberger opened his first hotel in 1930 in Baden-Baden called the Europäische Hof. This became the foundation of an empire that today has 160 hotels operating under its banner. The Steigenberger brand remained in the family until 2009 when it was sold to Deutsche Hospitality. Nowadays, Steigenberger is known for its luxury hotel experience across three continents.
