Over the past couple of months, Sydney has been delivered with some new and exciting restaurants. Below is a list of some of the “must try’s” over summer. The restaurants either incorporate a stunning venue, beautiful views or both!
Totti’s
Totti’s has been an extremely successfully restaurant, located in Bondi and soon to be Rozelle. Owned by Merivale’s Justin Hemmes, there’s no wonder the eatery in Bondi has skyrocketed. The delicious Italian cuisine draws crowds to the Royal Hotel, Bondi almost everyday of the week. In 2018, when Totti’s Bondi was opened, the back section of the Royal Bondi underwent some extreme renovations. The indoor/outdoor restaurant showcases a beautiful and authentic atmosphere and vibe, with not only incredible food but drinks as well.
The Rozelle Totti’s venue is said to be opened early December this year, just in time for Summer!
Coogee Wine Room
Coogee Wine Room has recently opened its doors, one block from the beach. The post-beach bar boasts a wine list consisting of 400 different wines and also provides delicious food as well. The extensive wine and drinks menu will keep anyone occupied for an afternoon in the sun, making it the perfect location for the summer time.
Alongside the drinks, Head Chef Sandro Di Marino has created a magnificent Mediterranean styled menu. With oysters, Spanish anchovies, pork cheek sliders and a cheese and charcuterie board as share dishes. The larger meals include ravioli, chargrilled octopus and salted cod.The venue opened in September and has already been a huge hit among Coogee locals, so make a day of it and get in early as it seats just 96 people.
Bather’s Pavilion
Bather’s Pavilion in Balmoral has received a new and improved makeover and now incorporates a stunning terrace champagne bar. The renowned venue is almost 100 years old and is featured on the heritage list. The venue just reopened on the 4th of October after a ten-week renovation, and now more than ever is definitely the time to check it out.
The beachy vibe inside has been designed by award-winning design studio Luchetti Krelle, who has also worked on venues such as the Manly Greenhouse, Verandah Bar and the Opera House lobby. Bather’s gives guests the option to dine at the bistro, at the bar, at the kiosk or at the fine dining restaurant.
The bistro is the most casual option to dine at and opens at 7am for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is extensive but also quite expensive, with avocado toast coasting $22 and main dishes like grilled prawns and fish pie costing around $35-45.
For finer dining, the Good Room is open for reservations. Guests who dine here will have 350 different wines to choose from, a delicious menu comprising of lots of fresh seafood and breathtaking ocean views wherever they’re seated. Bather’s is an incredible venue whether you’re just passing by for a coffee or going for a fine dining experience.
All of the restaurants above are open over the summer time and are in the perfect locations for a post-beach visit. They all encompass an incredible atmosphere and have lovely staff and servers.
