The Bentley x Boodles Continental GTC Is The Crowning Jewel Of Luxury Vehicles

In a one-of-a-kind collaboration, Bentley Motors has joined forces with renowned jewellery maker Boodles to create a special edition of the Bentley Continental GTC.

The partnership between these two iconic British brands marks a convergence of centuries-old traditions and a shared commitment to excellence. Bringing together Mulliner, Bentley’s bespoke commissioning division, and Boodles’ master artisans, the partnership promises to redefine luxury in the automotive realm.

Finding their roots in late eighteenth-century Britain, both brands have a rich history in the luxury market. While Bentley Motors found its start in the early 20th century, the division responsible for this collaboration, Mulliner, was established well before then. The origins of Mulliner, Bentley’s custom commissions sector, began with a Northampton coachbuilding firm established in 1760. Today, Mulliner continues to uphold the tradition of fine craftsmanship, offering discerning clients the opportunity to personalise their Bentley to the highest standards.

Similarly, Boodles, the esteemed British jeweller, has been synonymous with luxury since its establishment in 1798. The family-owned jewellery brand has since spent the last two centuries crafting its legacy within the luxury accessory industry. Boodles has become renowned for its exceptional creativity, superior craftsmanship, and unwavering commitment to quality. Every piece of Boodles jewellery is a testament to the brand’s dedication to perfection, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design sensibilities. With this in mind, it is no surprise that the collaboration between Bentley’s Mulliner division and Boodles has resulted in amasterpiece of deluxe craftsmanship and artistry.

Unveiled on April 11th at Bentley’s Jack Barclay dealership in London, the Boodles Continental GTC maintains the exemplary performance and comfort of the standard Continental GTC model, such as its twin-turbo 6.0-litre W12 engine and the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. However, this special edition vehicle also bears the distinctive touches synonymous with Boodles’ jewellery. Painted in Bentley’s dark grey Anthracite with glossy, black Tungsten-coated wheels, the vehicle exudes elegant sophistication. The exterior is further enhanced by Boodles’ signature Powder Pink pinstripe, tracing the edges of the Styling Specification front and rear spoilers and sills. Moreover, a ‘Boodles 1798’ badge graces the front fender, paying homage to the jeweller’s illustrious heritage. Even the ground-illuminating door lights proudly display the Boodles logo, welcoming occupants with a touch of luxury.

Whilst Bentley and Boodles have opted for a sleek and understated design for the exterior, the interior of the Boodles Continental GTC is where it really shines. Wanting to emulate the feeling of opening a Boodles jewellery box, the interior features a harmonious blend of Bentley’s renowned craftsmanship and Boodles’ distinctive design elements. Linen upholstery, accented by Boodles’ Powder Pink, envelops the cabin in understated elegance, while hand-stitched interlocking ‘Be Boodles’ motifs adorn the upper seat backs and door panels. Each motif, comprising 278,566 stitches, is a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship that defines both brands.

To truly capture that jewellery box effect, Boodles and Bentley have enhanced the interior details by using precious materials and stones to emphasise the luxury and extravagance of the vehicle. For example, the dual-finish veneers have been crafted from 200-million-year-old Autumn Stone, whilst touches of 24-carat gold on the air vents pay homage to Boodles’ heritage as a goldsmith. To further enhance the vehicle’s sense of magnificence, a bespoke ‘Be Boodles Bentley’ diamond pendant set into the centre console. Featuring mirrored diamond-set B emblems in 18-karat white gold, this addition serves as the crowning jewel of the interior.

The Boodles Commission Continental GTC is not merely a vehicle; it’s a celebration of heritage, innovation, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. The collaboration between Bentley and Boodles represents a harmonious fusion of two iconic British brands, each renowned for its commitment to excellence and craftsmanship. As the Boodles Commission Continental GTC prepares to embark on its journey into the annals of automotive history, it is certified to provide a truly unique and unforgettable driving experience for those who prefer the finer things in life.
